What is the difference between the Emerging Manager Buyouts and Beyond Buyouts conferences?
The Buyouts conference is dedicated exclusively to emerging managers raising a control buyout strategy while Beyond Buyouts conference will convene emerging managers across growth equity, private credit, public equities, real assets, and venture capital, creating a broader multi-strategy forum for Emerging Managers and LPs.
When is the next McGuireWoods Emerging Manager Conference?
The next 2026 McGuireWoods Emerging Manager Conference will be Beyond Buyouts on September 1 – 2, 2026 in Dallas, TX. Please visit the Applications page for details. The 2026 McGuireWoods Emerging Manager Conference – Buyouts concluded April 14 – 15 and dates for 2027 are to be announced.
Who should participate in this conference?
Buyout GPs who are planning or currently raising their first committed fund, as well as those who have raised Funds I and II or are in the process of raising Funds I through III, along with LPs including family offices, insurance companies, pensions, endowments, funds of funds and other institutional investors.

When will registration for all attendees open and close?

Is registration per attendee or per firm?
Every registration is per attendee, even if conducting meetings as a firm. If multiple representatives from your firm register, each must register and pay individually.
How many attendees per firm can attend?
We ask Emerging Manager and Limited Partner firms to register a maximum of two representatives to allow space for other firms to participate. Each person must register and pay separately – even if taking meetings together. As conference capacity nears, McGuireWoods holds the right to limit registration to one attendee per firm.
How can I access the attendee list?
The attendee list is made available to registered attendees through our conference portal approximately one month prior to the event. Access instructions will be provided closer to the event date.

Is there a hotel accommodation block for conference attendees?

What is the dress code?
Business casual attire is recommended.
Meetings & Scheduling
When will the meeting portal open?
The meeting portal will be accessible to registered attendees approximately one month prior to the event. You will receive detailed instructions on how to access the portal, view the attendee list, and schedule meetings prior to the portal opening.
What if I register but don’t get any meetings?
It is our objective for all managers to have a full schedule of confirmed meetings. However, it is ultimately up to limited partners to choose which funds they would like to meet with, and we cannot guarantee that a manager will be successful in confirming meetings. We will not provide any refunds once the speed-networking platform launches.
What is the length of meetings?
Confirmed meetings are scheduled for 30 minutes.
How many meetings do I need to schedule?
There are no minimum requirements for the number of meetings confirmed on your schedule.
Agenda & Panels
When will the agenda & panels be announced?
We aim to announce the conference agenda and panels approximately three to four months prior to the event. Keep an eye on our website, newsletter, and social media platforms for updates and announcements.
Can I suggest panel topics and speakers?
Absolutely! We welcome suggestions for panel topics and potential speakers. Please send your proposals and ideas to our conference organizers at [email protected]. Your input is valuable in shaping the content of our conference.

Cancellation Policy
What is your cancellation policy?
EMC registration can be cancelled with a full refund up to the launch of the speed networking platform. Once registered for the speed networking platform, cancellations are non-refundable.
We do not handle hotel reservations, and you will need to contact the hotel directly to make changes or inquiry about a cancelation.
